Open Position: Junior Piano Faculty

New Tampa Piano and Pedagogy Academy is seeking a passionate, qualified pianist to join our growing faculty team. We value excellence, creativity, and dedication to the student.

Position Overview

New Tampa Piano and Pedagogy Academy (NTPPA) is a premier music school in the New Tampa area with 11+ years of excellence in piano pedagogy. We are seeking a talented and dedicated Junior Piano Faculty member to join our team of highly qualified pianists and educators.

Our faculty holds degrees from top universities and conservatories, and our curriculum is designed to offer the highest quality music education to students of all ages β€” from ages 3 to adult. This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate educator to grow professionally within a supportive, high-achieving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach private piano lessons to students ranging from beginner to advanced levels across all ages (3 years old through adult)
  • Implement NTPPA's comprehensive curriculum including technique, music theory, ear training, sight-reading, and repertoire
  • Prepare students for recitals, RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) examinations, competitions, and college auditions
  • Maintain regular, detailed communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress
  • Participate in studio events including recitals, masterclasses, group lessons, and faculty meetings
  • Track and document student progress, maintain attendance records, and submit timely progress reports
  • Contribute to a positive, nurturing, and professional studio environment
  • Engage in continuous professional development and collaborate with fellow faculty members
  • Participate in studio outreach programs and community events as scheduled

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (M.M.) in Piano Performance or Piano Pedagogy from an accredited university or conservatory β€” required
  • Doctoral degree (D.M.A. or Ph.D.) in Piano Performance or related field β€” preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of proven piano teaching experience at a professional studio, university, or institution
  • Proficiency in RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) examination curriculum and syllabi
  • Experience preparing students for college auditions and national music competitions
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for working with children, teens, and adult learners
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly organized with excellent professional demeanor
  • Comfortable with digital studio management tools and scheduling platforms
  • Ability to work during our studio hours: Monday–Friday 1:00 PM–9:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM–8:00 PM

Work Schedule

This is a part-time to full-time position requiring approximately 22–25 hours per week, with schedule flexibility depending on student enrollment and faculty availability.

  • Monday through Friday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (hours within this window)
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (hours within this window)
  • Mandatory attendance at bi-annual recitals (Winter & Spring)
  • Attendance at faculty meetings and studio events as required
